The Georgian Patriots initially planned to conduct the Congress at the Courtyard by Marriott Tbilisi, where they invited 1,200 party delegates. However, more than 4,500 people attended the Congress on their own. And since the venue’s hall and foyer were too small to accommodate such a large number of people, the Alliance of Patriots of Georgia and the Congress participants eventually moved to the nearby Pushkin Park on Freedom Square, and continued the event outside.
During the event the party leaders summarized the work that has been done and announced their future plans. That is, to win the upcoming Parliamentary Elections. "2016 is an important year for our country and for our victory. We must unite and fight for our children’s future so that they will live in fair and happy Georgia, and so that around 76,000 kids are not starving in the country, while state officials are getting huge bonuses (unclear for what), as it happens today. And we have to fight in order to prevent such unacceptable matters as massive electoral fraud, which happened during the By-Elections in the Sagarejo district of Georgia, and protect our votes in the 2016 Parliamentary Elections. Therefore, we have to take into account our previous experience and confront the second 'Misha Saakashvili' in the face of the Minister of Defense Tinatin Khidasheli and her political 'family', who have almost usurped the country’s management", - stated Irma Inashvili, the General Secretary of the Alliance of Patriots of Georgia.
The re-elected Chairman of the party, David Tarkhan-Mouravi, stressed that if the electoral environment doesn’t change in the nearest future, the Georgian Patriots would hold new large-scale protest rallies and actions, including another hunger strike.
