War on Poverty in Georgia

Rustavi, Georgia – David Tarkhan-Mouravi and Irma Inashvili, the leaders of the popular political party Alliance of Patriots of Georgia, met with the residents of the industrial city of Rustavi on March 20th to announce a "war on poverty in Georgia". The town hall meeting, which was held in the Rustavi Drama Theatre, gathered 750 people. However, the number of attendees exceeded the space reserved for the venue, and a large gathering of people stood otside the venue to participate in the event and show their support for the party and its leaders.

During the meeting, the leaders of the Alliance of Patriots of Georgia raised the critical issues of the domestic and foreign policy of Georgia, and shared with the audience their vision for solving the major social and economic problems.

David Tarkhan-Mouravi, the Chairman of the Alliance of Patriots of Georgia, underlined the importance of declaring war on poverty in the country, and presented the party’s program of new job creation.

"I am tired of seeing my fellow Georgians living in poverty. For a nation with such a rich heritage, this is simply unacceptable. We need leaders who have the determination and vision to put our country back to work so that we all can live at a European standard", - stated Irma Inashvili, the General Secretary of the Alliance of Patriots of Georgia.

The party leaders also spoke about the new economic and business opportunities provided to Georgians by the free-trade agreement with the European Union, and encouraged people to take advantage of these unique opportunities. Also they encouraged their supporters to participate actively in the upcoming Parliamentary Elections in October 2016 and to vote for the candidates and program of the Alliance of Patriots of Georgia. .

Due to a large crowd of supporters, the party leaders and the audience agreed to have more town hall meetings in the coming months.
