David Tarkhan-Mouravi, the Chairman of the Alliance of Patriots of Georgia, talked about the major challenges the country faces at the moment. In his speech, the Chairman criticized the government for wasting Georgian tax payers’ money. He called on the government to use people’s money in more accurate and effective ways. As Tarkhan-Mouravi said, "It is not acceptable at all to spend $360 million on a new parliament building and $350 million on the Presidential Palace in a country, where more then half of the population is below the poverty level". He also presented the party’s program for agriculture development. "Cutting adminstrative expenses will save money for systemic reforms in agriculture and give a good start for the rehabilitation of irrigation and other agro systems in the country. Since about half of the Georgian population is working in the agro-sector, the state must pay maximum attention to the farmers in order to solve their problems and prevent the new ones", - stated the Chairman.
Irma Inashvili, the General Secretary of the Alliance of Patriots of Georgia, also addressed the audience with an appeal to create community councils in every village and neigbourhood in order to create a list of all the major problems that the locals have in village by village.
The leaders of the Alliance of Patriots of Georgia encouraged local resident to get actively involved in the election campaign of the party and support the party and its single mandate candidates in the upcoming Parliamentary Elections in October 2016.
